I didn't want to capture the everyday sounds of the city like cars, radios, and buses. However, there was one sound I couldn't avoid and it happened on North Avenue. From outside on the sidewalk, I could clearly hear the voice of our President, Barack Obama, coming from the second floor of an apartment complex. I was able to clip the mics on a wire running up the building to capture the sound. I don't know why this television was at this volume- but it made for an interesting recording. This took place at 4 p.m. on March 16, 2009. Because this recording was captured on a decent day, I was able to find an alley where a man was washing his car. The large amount of water coming from the hose traveled down the cracks of the alley and into a drain. I placed my microphones nearly inside the drain and was able to capture the hollow sound of drops falling into the drain. This was recorded Monday, March 16 at 1:40 p.m. The recording of this miracle can be found here.

This is the area map for the location:

Drift Strategy/Starting Point

For my Drift 1 venture, I will be using dice to determine my path.
